If the aforementioned groups don't work out (if I were you, I'd make a post in those threads replying and letting them know you're interested), I'd highly recommending hitting up the RPG night on Fridays at Heroes, Comics, & Gaming. It's every other Friday and all-ages.
For adult-only stuff: check out Games on Tap, Game Knights, and Slur Your Role (all usually held at bars around town).
The first two are board games, card games, etc. The last is RPGs, with a variety of game types (D&D, Call of Cthulhu, etc.).
Very often we've had private groups form from these events. Meet some people you like playing with and then start a new game with them.
What’s Your Alignment?
You Got: Chaotic Good
Everything you do is for the greater good, but you feel like needless bureaucracy often gets in the way. You’re trying to make the world a better place, but you really need to do it your own way.
Popular chaotic good characters:
Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead
Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec
Hagrid from Harry Potter
Over at DriveThruRPG, there's an awesome OSR sale. You can get a sweet AD&D 1E bundle for like $15. And, then a whole bunch of other titles (just scroll down and click on the link that goes to the 1,300+ titles at 15% or more off. @Old-School-D-D
