Newb LFG for D&D

Hello. I am 100% new to any sort of D&D other than listening to a podcast. I would like to get in a friendly group that could teach me the ropes and get me started. I should be pretty flexible on time and day. Thanks in advance.

@partymarty99 Are you interested in anything other than D&D. I'm looking for a couple more players for a GURPS 4e Transhuman Space game. I would have no problem teaching you the system as I am also teaching a few of the other players.

Hey I run a weekly group that runs every Saturday from 12-2 at pearl st coffee in Jeffersonville. (405 pearl st Jeffersonville in 47130) except this Saturday due to thunder
We are an open table style game where everyone and anyone can join. We are playing 5e and are currently level 6 if you want to bring a character ahead of time. If you don’t feel comfortable making a character I bring pre generated too.
We have a fun while not taking the rules to seriously. We are welcome to beginners experts or anything in between.
I’m a pretty big podcast listener too. If you are a critter or adventure zone fan. You should definitely give our game a shot.

@partymarty99 Transhuman Space is a near future, hard sci-fi setting. To touch on some of the major points.
1)High level of biotech. Unless you are extremely poor you have had some sort of genetic manipulation. From the elimination of genetic abnormalities to physical/mental enhancement.
2)Synthetic beings (e.g. bio-roids) are present.
3) Artificial Intelligence is a mature science.
4) Wet nanotech is prominent.
5) Space travel within the Solar system is present.If you've seen Altered Carbon on Netflix or The Expanse on Amazon Prime; it's along the lines of those shows.
As far as the system. It is a classless system, so anything you can imagine you can probably play. It is a "crunchy" system but if you can learn D&D you can learn GURPS.

@quadzie Thanks. My wife and I may be interested. We will have to talk about creating a character or using a pregenerated one. We may get with you all the next time you get together.

@mlucas Thanks. I am not sure if I’m ready for that quite yet. I am not totally against the idea though. I just think I may try to do D&D first and see how I like the game style.

If you have dice sure! But if not we have a dragon’s hoard. I Will bring everything else so you don’t have to worry about it. After the game we can make you a custom character after you use the pre-generated ones in game

It is an open game so whoever shows up is welcome to play no matter experience or anything else.
We have an ongoing story but we will weave your characters in and have a great time whenever you guys can make it.
