Smart Louisville

  • My buddies Reydel, Ed, Michael, Matthew, and Margeaux from the Civic Data Alliance are interviewed here about making the Amazon Echo (Amazon Alexa) and Philips hue smart light bulbs work with city service data in Louisville, Kentucky.

Your smart devices can tie in with #SmartLouisville by:
    • asking about your trash pickup days
    • having your light bulb change color based on air quality
    • listening to Mayor Greg Fischer's daily flash briefing
...and more skills, to be developed soon.

Meet the Civic Data Alliance, Greater Louisville Project, Office of Performance Improvement and Innovation, and me tomorrow at lunch, at LouieLab (register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/31080246855).

If you'd like to join the our volunteer code brigade at Civic Data Alliance, you can help us with future projects, learn new technologies, help your neighbors, and have fun while doing it.

  • Very cool! Do you have contact info for this team? Would love to get them on podcast.

  • Indeed I do!

Come meet everyone in person at lunch tomorrow, if you can. (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/31080246855)
Plus, check out LouieLab and demos of the smart gadgets we've got there.

If you can't make it there, I'll arrange for them to get in touch with you.

I can't do lunchtime. But, I'm usually free Thursday evenings and at various times on the weekends.
