Session 0 - Character Creation & Arrival at Muntburg



  • Session 0

    Early Winter - 1st: The Double Ds secure a writ from the Despot of Adamas to enter the ancient nexus of the world, Dwimmermount.

    Early Winter - 10th: The Double Ds arrive at Muntburg. On the caravan to Muntburg, all is quiet. El Sid, the noble, attempts to make a deal with Bynde to secure exclusive rights to buy Double Ds maps for the first three levels of Dwimmermount. Bynde seems very agreeable, even willing to make a deal without his brother Aurri, until he hears the terms.

    Early Winter - 10th: Midol the Reliever makes contact with Emelisse at the Chapel of Tyche. The chapel is smaller and simpler than the Temple to Typhon in Muntburg. Emelisse warns of Typhon's influence and power. She encourages Midol to share the knowledge within Dwimmermount to the priestesses of Tyche.

    Early Winter - 10th: The rest of the party enters the Green Dragon Inn. Butch loses 3 sp in an arm wrestling match with Lorenz of the Five Delvers. Kade Merrick watches and speaks with Asceline, the leader of the Delvers. Asceline encourages a peaceful accord with the Double Ds. Kade isn't entirely agreeable, suggesting formal terms. Nevertheless, Kade manages to get information about the Alchemist's Door and strange tracks leading off into a stone wall. Crumdar the Dwarf buys Delster, a dwarven gemsmith, a drink and Delster tells Crumdar of a secret entrance along the Stone-Wrought Stair that is only detectable by dwarves.

    Early Winter - 11th - Morning: The party wakes early and hikes the three miles along the old road to Winterburg that passes the stair to the Red Doors of Dwimmermount. It is cold and wintry. At the base of Dwimmermount is an old fortified stair of many paths, switchback routes, and ruined outbuildings. Crumdar scouts ahead and hears a camp of brigands seemingly awaiting Typhon's Fists to come down the mountain so they might ambush them. Crumdar waits, the brigands break camp and move further up the mountain. However, it seems the brigands were camped at the Alchemist's Door. It is investigated. Crumdar notices a strange immaterial stone wall that hides a narrow path that curls up the mountainside. It is the Stone-Wrought Stair.

    Early Winter - 11th - Afternoon: The party files up the windy stair until Crumdar notices a hidden entrance into a cavern inside the mountain. The party prepares to enter.

    In his honor, I will not call him Slumdawg anymore. He shall henceforth be known as Crumdar.
