Downtime Thieves Unite!

...and get to reading. Let's get all the idle thieves to go through the mass of laser disks with their read languages skill and isolate all the historical, origin, theological and bestiary topics on the labels. There has got to be more than a few tick marks we can check for Dwimmermount lore.

When we figure out what disks are most worth exploring we should have an expedition where 4 of us run security while the 2 others watch the disks and document that shit. Mike will hit us with a ton of wandering monster checks but if we fortify that bitch we should be able to crank through, at the very least, the first season of desperate housewives Dwimmermount.

    @Mike

What language is the writing on the labels? High Thulian?

If any non-thief can read the language, we should put them to work also.

It's not a language. You just need Read Languages to understand what the disk's topic is based on the grooves and symbols. It's more akin to a Dewey decimal system than any actual language.

So, thieves and MUs who can cast RL would be able to catalogue the disks. You're still just getting the broad topic. To actual know what's on the disks you need that machine to play them.

Milini will help with this task, beneath him though it is. It would be better than this endless waiting, though the bodies returning from the mountain is entertaining.

  • I will post what y'all cataloged tonight so you can have it ready for game tomorrow.

  • You spend a couple nights sorting through the laser discs. Most of them seem mundane. Hundreds of discs that read like a Wikipedia index -- boring with no other context.

However, of those discs, there are a few that stand out as potentially leading to knowledge about Dwimmermount:

    • Astral Travel & Colonization
    • Servants of the Great Ancients
    • The Anti-Servitors
    • Of Demons & Eld
    • The Eld Ist
    • Whereart Thou Beastman
    • The Thrice Great, Vol 1. 2. and 3.
    • Rise of the Termaxians
    • Eternally Damned, but Loyal
    • Azoth & Jubilex: A Study

The rest of the discs have little value without a machine to play them. You could hold a garage sale and sell the lot for 1d1001 gold pieces.

  • Dungeon Master

The writing, it bores Milini more than all this silly talk of alliances. But he would hire scribes, and take them to the Dwimmermount, and make them to be making two copies of these things for each the listening. Maybe then we send another copy, at the same time to another city. Two time the gold, that may keep the attention of Milini.

You'd have to take the scribes to the DVD+RW room to be making these copies, Milini.

  • Dungeon Master

Milini is not some docent, showing the little people the sights and the sounds. No, let the leading be done by one who cares about these writing. Bring Milini his share, he will shower you with more Golden ideas.

  • Milini sounds awesome
